Looking for a fresh way to get your matcha fix? This citrusy and subtly umami soda is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. Our Lime cordial brings brightness and zing, while matcha adds grassy notes and a gentle boost. With just a few ingredients and a splash of soda water, you’ve got a cafe-worthy creation in your own kitchen.
Ingredients
- 30ml Six Barrel Soda Lime Cordial
- ½ tsp Matcha Matcha Premium Latte Grade Matcha
- 30ml hot water (not boiling – about 80°C)
- Soda water to top up
- Ice
- Lime slice to garnish
Method
Make your matcha:
In a small bowl or cup, whisk your matcha with 30ml of hot water until smooth and frothy. A bamboo whisk is great for this, but a small whisk or fork will do the job too.
Build the drink:
Fill a tall glass with ice. Add 30ml of Six Barrel Soda Lime Cordial over the ice and then top up with soda water, leaving a couple of centimetres at the top of the glass.
Add the matcha:
Pour your whisked matcha over the soda. Give it a gentle stir to swirl that satisfying deep green through the soda.
Garnish (if you're feeling fancy):
Add a slice of lime or a sprig of mint to garnish.
🌿 Why it works:
The crisp, sweet and sour tang of lime balances the earthy, vegetal flavour of matcha. It’s great for slow afternoons, sunny mornings, or anytime you want something a bit different in your glass.
