Spiced Blackcurrant – Three Ways
Our latest Limited Edition Soda Syrup – Spiced Blackcurrant – is the ultimate Winter drink both cold and hot. Here’s three ways to enjoy it at home:
Spiced Blackcurrant Soda
A refreshing spiced berry soda, made with New Zealand blackcurrants, cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg and pimento. Mix one part (approx. 33mL) soda syrup to five parts water, for a tall glass. Add ice, soda water, then pour over the syrup – you won’t need to mix. Garnish with cucumber or orange, or get creative and bring out the spices with your garnish.
Hot Spiced Blackcurrant
A perfect winter warmer – mix one part (approx. 33mL) soda syrup to five parts hot water, from the kettle. This makes a great mulled wine substitute, or why not add red wine too for the real thing (all the herbs and spices are already in there, to make life really easy). Garnish with a clove-studded orange.
Spiced Kir Royale
Finally, we love this syrup for mixing up a champagne cocktail for the winter months. Just add 20mL of soda syrup to a flute, and top-up with sparkling wine. Garnish with an orange twist and berries. Fancy!
